What Is MIF?
The "MITA International Festival (MIF)" is our academy's largest event, entirely planned and managed by the students themselves. The festival brings together the diverse learning experiences and unique personalities of our school. It features interactive exhibits, performances, and food stalls hosted by various classes and student groups, alongside presentations showcasing academic research and inquiry-based learning. MIF is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to experience firsthand our students' creative ideas and their passion for taking on new challenges.
What Is Eclipse?
The theme for this year's MIF is "Eclipse."
An eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon where celestial bodies align perfectly, such as a solar or lunar eclipse. This theme reflects our belief that MIF is an event that can only happen when everyone aligns perfectly toward a single goal. Just like a solar or lunar eclipse, we spend a long time preparing for this special moment, which flashes by in an instant. Furthermore, "Eclipse" symbolizes the unique, precious moments experienced by each individual student.
The Junior High School Principal's Message
“Every single student is wonderful!”
These are words that many visitors come up to me and share during every MIF. While I am, of course, delighted by how many people say this, what surprises me even more each time is the remarkably wide range of ages represented among them.
Creating a school festival that can bring smiles to everyone—from young children to senior citizens—may sound simple, but it is actually quite difficult. Perhaps it is something that can only be achieved by MITA students, who embrace diversity and welcome people from all walks of life.
“Eclipse,” in a sense, is a show of light and shadow.
The many successes and failures our students have experienced on their journey toward this event will surely give rise to—and communicate—something that touches the hearts and stirs the imagination of our many visitors. We sincerely hope that you will join us and enjoy the “show of light and shadow” unfolding throughout every corner of our school.
As we prepare for the 2026 MIF, we have received tremendous support from the PTA, the Chigusa Association, and the Supporters’ Association from the planning stages onward. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.
The Senior High School Principal's Message
The theme "Eclipse", it brings to mind Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, who found charm and beauty precisely within the shadows. By turning our thoughts to the unseen and the hidden, our imagination expands vastly, giving rise to new forms of beauty and value that have never existed before.
I look forward to seeing each of you use your creative freedom to generate new and beautiful scenery found nowhere else; at the same time, I hope that MIF—including the entire process leading up to this moment—serves as "a wonderful place filled with smiles", and a space where we can truly experience and reflect upon our "daily lives" and "reality." To the members of the Chigusa-kai, the Supporters' Association, and the PTA: thank you for your continued support. We hope that all our visitors will enjoy seeing the energetic students of MITA International School of Science and sharing a delightful time of intergenerational interaction.
The MIF Executive Committee Chairperson's Message
This year's MIF theme is "Eclipse". Just as a solar or lunar eclipse occurs when celestial bodies align for a single extraordinary moment, MIF can only come to life when many people come together toward one shared goal. The MIF Committee, participating students, teachers, parents, and many others have spent months preparing for these two special days. Every idea, effort, and contribution has come together to create this year's MIF. We hope that everyone who visits will experience the energy of this moment and feel the passion that each student has put into making MIF possible. May these two days become a memorable experience for everyone. Please enjoy our one and only "Eclipse."
